If anyone notices an item needing to be restocked, please write it down on the pad on the refrigerator...this helps us to keep on top of needed items. If you have any questions, please let Ann Cowhick know...she has adopted the St. Martha Room. Thank you for your generosity!!
Anyone wishing to help with construction projects, please contact Matt Anaya 303-6388-5427, Dave Brinkhoff 303-378-4021, Lee Short 303-590-4166 or John Scherling 303-667-7445. There are many areas to cover and these gentlemen need helpers to delegate jobs.
Our goal is to move into the new church a minimum of 2 weeks prior to dedication; hopefully sooner.
The rummage sale produced over $1600 in contributions -- and the families that worked and organized the sale have donated money to purchase 2 light fixtures for the church!! They also have about $300 to spend in sporting equipment for the church. Thank you Poe, Sparky & Ellen, and all who volunteered to help this fundraiser. There are still 6 light fixtures to adopt ($660 ea). Also, the special linen used on the altar for the altar cloth ($184), and other linen (for everyday use) ($72) and candle torches for processions ($270).
The bathroom upstairs is nearing completion. The Vroom family has donated their time and materials to get this project completed. Thank you!! There are others who have volunteered countless hours and materials - hopefully we'll be able to view it this Sunday!
The 1st Sunday of the month will be the parish potluck (held at the church) and the third Sunday of the month will be coffee and doughnuts/muffins/bagels (we'll give Ann Cowhick a break!!)
The sanctuary bells, sanctuary light hanger and censor stand have arrived and are in the conference room. Please be sure and see them tomorrow. The censor stand is still in need of purchase (adoption)...it is costly, but perhaps a couple families could go in together to purchase it. The sheet is in the kitchen. It is very detailed and beautiful. Please help, if you can absorb the costs of some of these items!!
We will post a list of items that need to be attained or done at the chapel prior to the dedication - but with all the wonderful volunteers we have, I'm sure it will be taken care of.
There are still positions for coordinators on the bulletin board that need to be filled - it is all needed to help the church run smoothly and it's FREE!!!
If you are a home school family who would like to take on an art project of designing the bulletin board near the chairlift - we could use some creativity in putting together a bulletin board with the photo's of the church in it's renovation stages. Please print out photo's you have taken, and put them on top of the refrigerator in the kitchen...these will be used on the display. Please contact me via email.
Bookstore Items
Ellen Glover is the new coordinator for the small bookstore. It is now open with new inventory on Sundays after Mass. Any special requests, please let Ellen know. She will be ordering more items in the future.
Religious articles are also available at: http://www.miqcenter.com
We will occupy the auditorium during the renovation process of the church, due to the fact the Sanctuary has to be reconfigured. The choir loft will be off limits to everyone except for those doing construction due to rails that need to be "CHILDPROOFED". Please keep children out of the main chapel as well, due to other safety issues.
Please bring household items or kitchen food items to start up the pantry for the religious who will stay at the chapel occasionally.
See Julie for a rosary "Pearls of Prayer" that a family in Hawaii is making...this is her letter. We are making "Job's Tears" Rosaries in cords. They are very unique and special because they only grow in tropical areas like Asia. They are naturally lustrous and appear like pearls. The more you use the beads, the shinier they become because our body oil naturally polishes the beads. We nickname them "Puna Pearls" after the area where we live here on the Big Island of Hawaii. We normally use the St. Benedict Crucifixes (in silver and brown or gold and brown), and we have many different centerpiece-medals for you to choose from. Perhaps you may want to use your special "heirloom" crucifix or medal. Please let us know what your needs are. Please support us as we support our large family with eight young children. Thank you and God Bless!" To Jesus through Mary, The John Moylan family, 13 3326 Hookupu St, Pahoa, HI 96778...808-965-7496.

Confraternity of Christian Mothers
We will continue to set aside Fridays as a day of Fast, and pray the Rosary at 7 a.m. and/or 7 p.m. as the Church Militant, in union with the Church Suffering and the Church Triumphant; for the intention of bringing our families closer to the Faith, for conversions, and for the vocations of Holy Religious. Participation is voluntary; even a partial day of fasting would be beneficial.
St. Monica Sodality
We currently have a St. Monica Sodality. If you are interested, please contact Ellen Glover, and she will give you information on the Sodality. The Mass for the intentions of the Sodality is offered, with rare exceptions, on First Fridays in Omaha at 7:00 pm CST. It would be beneficial if the members of the Sodality here, who cannot be present at that Mass, offer our rosary in union with that Mass, if possible.
